This one day, in-person training equips HR professionals with practical AI skills for real HR work, from analysing complex grievance evidence to drafting policies, supporting neurodivergent employees and knowing when NOT to use AI.

Your HR team is experimenting with ChatGPT. Some are drafting policies. Others are asking AI for advice on employee situations. Most are doing it inconsistently, sometimes inappropriately and occasionally brilliantly.

We go beyond generic “AI productivity tips”, giving your HR team the practical skills, ethical frameworks and quality control processes they need to use AI tools effectively and safely. Jenefer’s 20 years in HR, 2+ years of personal experience with AI tools (including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and NotebookLM) plus her neurodiversity expertise, all means that she brings real examples from actual HR work, not hypothetical scenarios.

This training isn’t just theory, it’s hands-on practice with real AI tools, working through your real HR challenges with equipment provided so everyone can participate fully.

Why This Training Is Different

Most AI training for HR shows you cool features in ChatGPT, gives you generic prompts and sends you on your way.

That doesn’t help when you need to analyze 15 documents from a complex grievance. It doesn’t help when you’re drafting a redundancy letter and need to know what legal risks to check. It doesn’t help when a neurodivergent employee asks for AI support but “ADHD friendly” prompts give neurotypical advice.

Training That Goes Deeper

We work through real HR applications - including grievance analysis, policy drafting, data interpretation and adjustment creation - using actual AI tools with hands-on practice throughout.

You’ll learn from:

  • Jenefer’s 20 years in HR and 2+ years as a daily AI user across multiple tools
  • Real examples from actual HR consultancy work, not made-up scenarios
  • Your own team’s challenges and questions
  • A neurodiversity lens that makes your AI use inclusive by design

This isn’t a lecture. It’s a hands-on workshop where everyone uses AI tools throughout the day, with small groups (maximum 10), ensuring genuine practice time and individual support.

What’s Included in the AI Training for HR Professionals Course

This is not a lecture. Your HR team will learn through hands-on practice with real AI tools and real-life scenarios drawn from actual HR work.

Equipment provided: You bring yourself. We bring Chromebooks with access to professional grade AI tools. No tech setup barriers. No “my laptop won’t work” issues. Everyone starts on the same equipment with the same tools.

Small groups: Maximum 10 participants (not the typical 12-15). This ensures everyone gets genuine practice time, individual support when needed and space to discuss their specific scenarios.

3-month post-training support: After training, you can email with questions about using AI for specific situations, feedback on prompts you’ve written or help when you’re stuck. 48-hour turnaround included in the investment.

The training is tailored to your team’s AI experience. For those new to AI tools we’ll start with fundamentals. For those already experimenting with ChatGPT we’ll dive straight into advanced applications and risk management.

What You’ll Learn

You’ll leave with practical tools you can use immediately:

  • Which AI tool for which HR task: An introduction to AI models and their user interfaces, with clear guidance on what features to use and when to use them
  • Analysing complex evidence: Using NotebookLM to review grievance investigations with 15+ documents - identifying contradictions, mapping timelines and spotting patterns you’d miss reading linearly
  • Strategic planning and data interpretation: Developing people plans, interpreting survey results and understanding turnover patterns - using AI as your thinking partner
  • Writing with confidence and caution: Drafting policies, letters, emails and communications - knowing exactly where the legal risks are and how to check everything
  • Supporting neurodivergent employees: Generating adjustments, creating accessible communications and understanding why asking AI for “ADHD friendly” advice often fails (and what works instead)
  • Spotting bias: Using AI to find bias in your job descriptions and policies while understanding AI’s own bias and how to quality-check outputs
  • Effective prompting: How to write prompts that actually work, moving beyond “help me with this policy” to tool instructions that get usable results
  • When NOT to use AI: Clear boundaries for situations requiring human judgement, for example disciplinary decisions, redundancy selection, employee wellbeing and legal advice
  • Unexpected applications: From photographing error messages for IT support to workspace design suggestions, opening your mind to AI flexibility beyond obvious HR uses
  • Data protection essentials: What never goes into AI tools, how to anonymize scenarios and when to use enterprise versions

Plus: You’ll understand how to use Projects in ChatGPT and Claude to store your organizational context, create custom AI assistants for your HR work and build a team workflow that maintains quality and compliance.

Hands-on practice throughout: Everyone uses AI tools during the session. You’ll write prompts, analyze documents, draft policies, generate adjustments and quality-check outputs. This isn’t watching someone demonstrate, it’s doing it yourself with expert guidance.

Outcomes

After completing this training, your HR team will:

  • Use AI tools confidently for appropriate HR tasks (and know when not to use them)
  • Choose the right AI tool for each specific task - e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or NotebookLM
  • Draft policies, letters and communications efficiently while understanding legal risks
  • Analyze complex HR data and grievance evidence more effectively
  • Create better support for neurodivergent employees using AI-generated adjustment ideas
  • Spot and reduce bias in recruitment and HR processes
  • Maintain data protection compliance when using AI tools
  • Build team workflows and quality control processes that ensure consistent, ethical AI use
  • Save time on routine tasks so they can focus on complex judgement calls that require human expertise

From Training to Implementation

This training gives your HR team the skills, enabling them to turn those skills into daily practice:

  • Immediate Application: Your team can start using AI for policy drafting, email clarity, data analysis and adjustment generation right away. You’ll have tested prompts, quality control checklists and decision frameworks to work from.
  • Individual Support: Many organisations combine this training with Workplace Needs Assessments for neurodivergent employees who would benefit from learning AI tools for personal productivity - including executive function support, time management and communication assistance.
  • Team Workflows: During training you’ll draft your organisation’s AI use guidelines for HR. After training you can implement these guidelines across your team with the 3-month email support helping you refine and troubleshoot.
  • Ongoing Support: For 3 months after training, email with questions. For example “How do I use AI for this situation?”, “Is this prompt working?” and “Is AI appropriate for this?”. 48-hour turnaround included.
CPD Certification: This course can be CPD certified on request. Most of our training is CPD accredited and we can arrange certification in time for your training session if needed.

Why Smart HR Teams Invest in AI Training Now

HR teams shouldn’t wait for mistakes before investing in AI expertise:

  • Your team is already using AI - often inconsistently and sometimes inappropriately
  • Generic AI training teaches productivity, not HR-specific risk management
  • Data protection breaches from putting employee data in AI tools are costly
  • Bias in AI-generated job descriptions or policies creates legal risk
  • Neurodivergent employees need AI support but “ADHD friendly” prompts often fail

What most organisations miss: AI tools are most powerful for HR when used with a neurodiversity lens. The skills that make you excellent at using AI to support neurodivergent employees - clear communication, bias awareness, accessible outputs - make you better at ALL your HR work.

This isn’t specialist training, it’s modern HR practice.

Understanding how to use AI ethically and inclusively doesn’t mean creating a separate playbook for AI work, it means upgrading your entire HR approach so it works for everyone - neurotypical and neurodivergent, tech-confident and tech-anxious.

All our courses, whether live or recorded, are delivered by Jenefer Livings who has 20 years experience in HR, having designed and delivered training on the whole range of HR topics for organisations across industry sectors. As Jenefer also provides hands-on consultancy work with her clients she maintains an up to date knowledge and experience that shines through with engaging stories in her training.

With our in-person course we'll work through case studies and discuss real life examples to ensure your managers get learning relating to the types of cases they'll be dealing with.

Why Silk Helix?

All our training is prepared and delivered by me, Jenefer, because you're not getting someone who just reads you the slides. You're getting stories, passion, my energy and engaging discussion. I don't deliver long lectures and use a range of activities to encourage everyone to engage with small and whole group discussions, this is how I ensure your business reality is reflected in everything we do.

My promise to you! There will be no role plays, no embarrassing icebreakers where you have to reveal information about yourself and no one is picked on to speak. In my experience these are the things people dread about training and I see the collective sigh of relief when I start the session with this promise.

I recognise that to get discussion going you need an inviting environment. For in-person training this means a room set up, which includes a supply of fidgets and sweets, usually this in itself creates instant discussion as people enter the room. This sets people at ease and creates an ice breaker of its own.

You get a little hint of my style on our YouTube channel. In-person training is like that just with lots of interaction interspersed. And if you're looking at my webinars or digital courses, they're just like my YouTube channel but with a lot more specific detail and backed up by examples, templates and guides. Webinar sessions also include discussion and interaction to encourage everyone to get involved.

Why Choose Silk Helix for AI Training?

Jenefer is a daily AI user, working with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, NotebookLM and others in the running of her business and her consultancy work. She uses AI to analyse grievance evidence, interpret data, draft policies and to support her own neurodivergent challenges. She holds a PGCert in Neurodiversity and is a qualified Workplace Needs Assessor, often recommending AI tools to support neurodivergent employees.

You’re not learning from a tech consultant teaching HR applications. You’re learning from an HR professional who genuinely uses AI daily and understands both the power and the risks. That combination - HR expertise, neurodiversity knowledge and real AI use - is rare.

Frequently Asked Questions

If anyone attending our training sessions has a specific need we should be accommodating we ask that you tell us in advance so that we can plan the training accordingly. We will do our best to accommodate any need for whatever reason that need exists.

There are also some common ways we develop our training to take into account the wide variety of learning styles and needs. We know learning styles are not limited to visual, auditory, reading and writing, and kinesthetic. Learning is impacted by a whole variety of things, including underlying medical conditions (diagnosed and not), comfort/ safety in your environment and your past experiences of learning. Our training by design takes this into account, including:

  • a welcoming environment for learners to enter
  • stress balls or other fidget resources
  • workbooks with place for personal notes if the learner wishes
  • minimal need to read long pieces of text
  • noone is called out or picked on (even to go first)
  • no icebreakers that require you to reveal personal information (we do use activities but always related to the learning and with a specific goal)
  • no role plays (we find for too many people the issues around acting get in the way of learning)
  • regular breaks
  • no lengthy period of lectures by the trainer - it’s about discussion of your real life cases or activities that make you think or develop skills

Whilst our webinar/lunch and learn sessions cannot provide all of the physical support we’ll still do everything we can to accommodate. We encourage individuals to access their own supports, join the session from somewhere they are comfortable, use their own fidget tools or take notes and camera on or off is a personal preference.

Absolutely not. A major section of training covers data protection essentials:

  • What never goes into AI tools (names, sensitive personal data)
  • How to anonymize scenarios properly
  • When to use enterprise AI versions
  • Your organisation’s data protection boundaries

During training, all practice scenarios use fictional or anonymized information. You’ll learn how to maintain data protection compliance when using AI in your actual HR work.

Good. Healthy scepticism is valuable and we address it directly:

  • When AI is inappropriate or harmful
  • Limitations and risks
  • Why human judgement remains essential
  • Data protection and bias concerns

Often sceptics become the best users because they think critically about appropriate use. The training gives frameworks for “when NOT to use AI” as much as “when to use it”.

It helps but isn’t essential. If you have specific scenarios you want to work through (policy drafting, complex investigation, data interpretation, adjustment creation), sharing these in advance helps us tailor exercises.

However, we also have scenarios prepared that work for most HR teams and we often generate new scenarios during the session based on discussion.

Yes, we’re happy to adapt and design sessions to suit your needs. Book a FREE, no obligation, consultation to discuss your needs and get a quote for bespoke training.

Yes. Before training, we have a consultation where you share:

  • Your team’s current AI experience
  • Specific HR challenges you face
  • Industry-specific considerations
  • Scenarios you want to work through

We then adapt examples and practice exercises accordingly. The core curriculum stays the same but applications are tailored to your context.

CPD Member
Yes.
We are a registered provider with The CPD Certification Service

Yes, we can deliver multiple sessions. However, we strongly recommend keeping groups at maximum 10 participants because:

  • Everyone needs hands-on practice time with AI tools
  • Individual support is essential when learning new technology
  • Quality control and risk discussion requires smaller groups
  • Larger groups reduce the value significantly

No. This training is deliberately in-person and hands-on because:

  • Everyone needs to actually use AI tools throughout the session
  • Technical troubleshooting is easier in person
  • Equipment provision removes barriers
  • Complex discussions about risk, bias and boundaries work better face-to-face
  • Quality control practice requires individual guidance

If webinar format is essential for your organisation, let’s discuss your needs in a consultation. The value and outcomes will be different from our in-person training but we can discuss this.

If you’re ready to go ahead then either book a consultation or email training@silkhelix.co.uk with your requirements and we’ll get dates booked in.

After training, you can email Jenefer with:

  • Questions about using AI for specific situations
  • Requests for feedback on prompts you’ve written
  • Help troubleshooting when AI outputs aren’t working
  • Queries about whether AI is appropriate for something
  • Follow-up scenarios you want guidance on

48-hour turnaround on email responses. This isn’t a chatbot, it’s Jenefer providing expert guidance on your actual HR situations.

Yes, our in-person training is provided at your venue. Some clients use meeting rooms in their buildings, others book venues.

We bring with us laptops and a base station which acts as their Internet gateway using our own dedicated WiFi network. For this reason we have power and networking requirements which should be discussed and agreed in advance, which may require involvement or approval from your IT department.

For some venues we may be able to support our base station using mobile phone networks for Internet access, however we prefer to use this as a backup plan rather than our sole connectivity when venue Internet connectivity is available.

In addition, our trainer will need parking as this training in particular comes with a lot of kit. We don’t use loads of slides (Jenefer isn’t a fan or either producing them or remembering to switch slides) but there are a few occasions where a diagramme or video for example help make the point.

Our full day sessions are 7 hours, including 30 minutes for lunch. Exact times may vary slightly, training courses are interactive with plenty of opportunities for discussion built into the day, this can impact the end timing slightly.

No. We provide all equipment, Chromebooks with AI tool access already set up. This eliminates tech setup issues and ensures everyone starts on the same equipment with the same tools.

If you prefer to use your own laptops for practice (to keep your work after training), that’s fine but we recommend using our provided equipment for the initial learning to avoid technical issues.

You don’t need any. We provide Chromebooks with pre-configured access to AI tools for all participants. This is included in the training investment.

After training, you can decide which tools your organisation wants to subscribe to based on what you found most useful during the session.
