Meet the Founder
Jenefer Livings MA, PGCert (Neurodiversity), Chartered MCIPD

I’m Jenefer, a neurodivergent HR professional and neurodiversity specialist who’s spent over twenty years working out how to make workplaces work better.
I’ve always been drawn to the human side of work, the messy, complex, brilliant reality of people coming together to get things done. My career has taken me through many sectors and business environments but a constant throughout has been my belief that good people management is about more than compliance. It’s about understanding how people actually work.
Over time, my focus has sharpened. I’m neurodivergent myself and I’m also a parent to a wonderfully neurodivergent child. These lived experiences have shaped my worldview and deepened my understanding of how workplaces either support or disable people. They’ve also made me determined to help organisations do better, not just for legal reasons but because inclusive workplaces work better for everyone.
That determination sits at the intersection of three things employers need to get right together: employment law, HR practice and neurodiversity. Most providers offer one of these. Few combine all three. That combination is what Silk Helix is built on.
My personal drive also led me to formal study. I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Neurodiversity alongside my BA in Human Resource Management and Sociology, MA in Personnel and Development, Chartered Membership of the CIPD and the Workplace Needs Assessor Award. This blend of academic grounding, professional experience and lived insight gives me a perspective on neurodiversity at work that’s both practical and deeply informed.
It’s also what led me to develop the SHAPE Method™, a five-step framework that helps managers support neurodivergent employees. It translates the academic and legal complexity into something practical, something a line manager can actually use on a Monday morning. The SHAPE Method underpins much of how I train and consult and is the subject of my forthcoming book, due to be published in 2027.
My passion truly comes through when I’m delivering training that helps organisations better understand and support neurodivergent staff and customers. I bring that combination of professional HR expertise, academic qualifications and lived experience of neurodiversity to every session I deliver. My sessions are interactive and grounded in real life, designed to create space for questions, challenge assumptions and build confidence.
Outside of work, I’m a mum to two teens and like many parents of neurodivergent children I’ve had to become an expert advocate, learning to listen closely, think differently and push for what’s right. Those same qualities guide me in the work I do today.
Alongside my work at Silk Helix, I also run Your ADHD Home, where I support parents of neurodivergent children. Combining my professional expertise with lived experience as a neurodivergent parent, I offer one-to-one support and practical strategies to help families navigate the challenges of everyday life with ADHD. Through Your ADHD Home, I share insights, understanding and resources designed to help parents build calmer, more connected family environments.

Back at Silk Helix, my focus is on helping employers build workplaces that work for everyone. If that’s the kind of workplace you want to build, I’d love to talk.
